Rab Ferguson is a children's writer from the North of England. He claims he's never actually seen an alien, but we can't be sure that's true.

He thinks that everyone reading this should try writing a story too - about whatever excites them! Whether that be aliens, or dragons, or railway lines, or pots and pans.

He'd challenge anyone reading this to write a 100 word story about something they think is cool!

When not writing, Rab works for the National Literacy Trust, helping to encourage children's literacy. He is also a Creative Writing Tutor at the OCA. In short, he likes books - especially kids books.

He lives with his wife Ashton, and his cat Hugo, both of whom are wonderfully ridiculous. Hugo appears in the second Late Crew book, and is very spooked when he meets his identical double!
